Royce Hogue will lead this training ride starting in Spangle-Fairfield-Plummer-Latah-Rosalia-Spangle. We will do some climbing between Fairfield-Plummer and Plummer-Latah. Royces ride will meet the SRV group starting in Spangle at 10:00 am in Rosalia at 11:00 am. This ride option is geared towards those with stage race plans in May and June. The distance is longer, the terrain challenging, training pace efforts. MAP:www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Spa....Rosalia-SpangleDistance - 86.7 miles Pace - Training (ave 19-21 mph) Terrain - gently rolling, climbs into and out of Plummer, last half long grades rolling Regroup - 11:00 am in Rosalia with 10:00 am Spangle group Start Time - 8:00AM, (changed)Start Location - Spangle parking lot between Harvester Restaurant and Gas Station Rain Cancels - No

Ride Option #1: (lest we forget) Dale Peringer will lead this rural ride starting in Spangle, riding south to Rosalia, then on to Malden then taking a north turn at the west end of Malden for a hilly ride back to Spangle on Wells Rd. There are several ways to shorten this ride to any mileage one chooses. The road to Rosalia is relatively downhill then one hill to climb before a descent and mostly flat ride to Malden but once we turn north at Malden there are some long climbs on rollers. MAP:www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Spangle-Rosalia-Malden-SpangleDistance - 41.2 miles Pace - Brisk (ave 16-17 mph) Terrain - 1st half gently rolling, last half long grades rolling Regroup - Rosalia (food & drink), Malden, Occasional Thereafter Start Time - 10:00 am Start Location - Parking lot between Harvester Restaurant and Gas Station Rain Cancels - No

I think I might show up for one of these rides. If anyone wants to carpool from town let me know.

Mike I would like to go on one of the rides this Saturday. But I need to get a couple of scheduling conflicts rearranged. If I can get my schedule worked out I’d like to car pool. What time of the morning would we need to leave?

We're going to meet for breakfast at the Chalet on 30th and Grand at 8:30AM.
Then carpool down to Spangle to start the 10:00 ride. Between us we should have plenty of room for anyone needing a ride. I need to be home by early afternoon. See ya there.

I’m going to have to bail on the Saturday ride I woke up with a bad cold and no voice at all. I better stay home and try to get better. Just my luck I ride all winter in the cold, snow and rain but I don’t get sick until the weather starts to get nice.

Tried to post tommorrow's forecast early this morning from home but Comcast was all screwed up so I'll try it from my office.
Saturday Hourly Ride Forecast:
10:00hrs = 47 deg., Wind from SW @ 11mph, Precip 35% 11:00hrs = 50 deg., Wind from SW @ 15mph, Precip 35% 12:00hrs = 53 deg., Wind from SW @ 15mph, Precip 35% 13:00hrs = 53 deg., Wind from SW @ 15mph, Precip 35% 14:00hrs = 53 deg., Wind from SW @ 16mph w/22mph Gusts, Precip 35%
We should have nice tail wind on way back home. For those wanting more than 42 miles, you can go through Malden to Pine City and turn North to head back for an additional aproximate 20 miles.
Guess I'll make it to breakfast @ 8:30 at the Chalet.

Dale, will you be driving? Stu driving?
I'm thinking about pedaling up the Chalet and than catching a ride down to Spangle. Unless we don't have enough space for everyone, then I'll drive.

I'll be driving down. I can haul 4 additional people and 6 bikes. Stu usually drives too but am not sure what his commitment is yet. I'm sure we can get everyone down there.

You keep offering rides like option #1, I might have to get up the courage to come out and ride.

still looking for a ride today, anyone interested? You know Stu, you're right. Riding through town does not sound like much fun. I am just standing here beside myself. What are you thinking of in terms of route and mileage? I need to be back at my house by 3pm. Dale

I took it upon myself to make sure breakfast at the Chalet was not cancelled. Can't say much for the company, but the food was good.
