Who's in? I'm leaving my place at around 5:00 to ride out there. Not sure if I'll race or just watch.

I'm planning to be there. The National Weather Service predicts southwest wind around 8mph for that location, so it shouldn't be as brutal as the last time I was there. But I'll still be interested to know which direction we'll be going on the course this time.

I was noticing that about the points, it'd be a good day to at least be in the top six. My avatar notwithstanding, I'm not a sprinter... don't seem to have much fast-twitch going for me. 40 minutes won't be enough to wear people down, and there are no hills to work with, so I'm not getting my hopes too high. But I promise not to just tow the pack around like an idiot this time I think Baddlands will be the guys to watch. Their veterans know how to lead out, and I remember Tim W. mentioning that they've got the trick of supressing the chase using the hairpin corners as a choke point, too. And they had a good turnout last week, more than anyone else. If I can get into a break with a Baddlands rider or two, I'm definitely going to pull my weight and try to keep it alive. If you can't lick 'em, join 'em as the saying goes

Another great day for a race! The winds were pretty mild, considering we were at SCR. In the B pack, Don Belfis of SRV started off the festivities with an attack on the second lap. Later I saw a moment where Connor, Kalen and another couple guys looked poised to launch, so I tried to dart up there and pull them clear, but we got nailed too. Not long after that, Tim W. (SRV) put out a really strong solo break. He was out there hammering for quite a while and I kept hoping Baddlands and the other teams would send guys up to make it a break, but it didn't pan out and we regrouped. I tried to get clear on the back stretch right after after Tim's break, but the pack had no trouble reeling me in. It just isn't easy to get a breakaway going at SCR Seeing the writing on the wall, it was pretty obvious it would be a group sprint at the end, so Tim towed me to the drag strip while I saved energy. Kalen and Connor were right ahead of us. I started my sprint much too early... it's easy to misjudge the distance to the line out there. I had no idea whether anyone was on my wheel or not, so I just kept sprinting in my 53x11 until I was crosseyed, and ended up 1st. Thanks Tim for helping me save up energy for that sprint, the recovery time makes all the difference Ok, A pack and C pack riders, your turn for Show-&-Tell!

Tom, you are a stud. I've known that for almost 20 years since the day I watched you clear the original switchbacks climbing up the bluff over the south hill in your big ring. It's a pleasure riding with you.

nice job Tom. It was pretty much a repeat of the B race in the A-pack. no breaks stuck and it was a field sprint. Replace Tim leading out Tom for 1st with Royce leading out Alan for 1st place! Nice job Tom, Alan and rest 0f SRV tonight.

Way to go both Tom & Tim. Tim did a great job of putting the hurt on the pack & protecting Tom for the win & Tom didnt disappoint. Awesome job in the A-pack too, way to go guys. I wish the starts between classes didnt overlap so I could have watched the end. The C-pack was myself and Dale, me going incognito (I really need to borrow a SRV jersey on a long-term basis so I come prepared). A few tried to break away and ended up getting reeled in, and I tried my hand twice at an attack on the uphill after turn one, to no avail. Then Dale put his mounting bike skills to good use as we caught up to 3 from the women's class due to a crash. Dale got pushed wide and ended up off-roading with a baddlands rider. Nice bike-handling skills Dale! Last lap I was able to pedal inside the line and position myself tword the front coming onto the drag strip and just started sprinting as soon as I seen another do so. I was in shock and awe as I realized I was in a points position, and held my spot for 6th acrossed the line. First points score! Great night for SRV all the way round. Pics are like seriously blurry since I left my camera on macro mode; but the good news is I didnt crash my bike & car after the race this time . At the risk of stealing some of Alan's thunder for his story, here's some A-Pack pics:

Congrats on the 6th place YeastMan. We're in the points for each race...sweet. Looking at that picture of the A finish makes me wish I had just a few more feet. I was 20 short feet from 6th
