Please pass the word to anyone looking for a super starter or TT bike… I’m grudgingly selling my 2003 Trek 5900SL (OCLV 110):
Some details about the frame/fork include…
OCLV 110
Trek 5900, 5700
Superlight bike ridden to Huatacam, 2000 Tour de France
Frame and fork- 1353 grams
This is the material use in the Superlight frame ridden by Lance Armstrong in the mountains. A square meter of OCLV 110 tow weighs just 110 grams. Since there is even less carbon in this frame than in the 120, they use a higher strength, higher modulus carbon. The resulting frame has the same strength and stiffness as an OCLV 150 frame, but is about 1/2 pound (200gm) lighter. The drawback to high modulus carbon is greatly increased material costs. In plain English, this frame is very expensive.
Specs:
Never crashed, but does have typical scratches or wear patterns
56cm (55.7 c-c top tube)
Dura-Ace 9-speed shifters (1.5 seasons of use)
Dura-Ace rear derailleur/ (105 front)
Dura-Ace cranks (175mm)/BB
Dura-Ace breaks
Ultegra 12-25 rear/52-39 front (all new this season)
Rolf Vector Comp Wheel set (well used continentals)
Cane Creek Headset
Various Bontrager components (bars/stem/etc…)
No pedals
Price: $1150 (willing to negotiate to some extent)
Here is a sample Picture of the original paint/decals for reference only… I removed all of the postal stickers from my bike so it is essentially just the base color shown in the photo. sports.webshots.com/photo/1288924245065764071KPwULU
Those of you that know the bike, know that this was my primary racing machine well into July of the ’09 season and hopefully recognize that this is a dang good bike for someone looking to get into road racing or looking to add a TT bike to the inventory. I’m selling because I want to experiment with cyclocross and my budget demands that something has to go before something new can arrive.
