I'm doing the Mt. Baker Hill Climb (Ride 542) this weekend and was wondering if anyone has done it before (the race or just ridden up it).
The record for the 16-19 age group is 1 hour 24 mins (an average of 17.5 mph for the 24.5 miles). I'd like to break this record and was wondering if anyone has some insights/strategy for me (other than have an average faster than 17.5mph...haha).
Thanks, Connor

Results were just posted. I got 25th overall in the competitive ride with a time of 1:32:13 and got first in my age group (16-19).
The times this year were almost 10 minutes slower that previous years. I think people were taking it easy on the way to the beginning of the major climb. It was a great race with perfect weather and amazing scenery. Hopefully I'll do better next year now that I've ridden the mountain.

And Conner, you've got the last word of the road season! Nice job in 2009. Next stop 2010.
