Okay, Sarah and I just spent the last 4 hours sorting through the results of yesterdays 'cross race. I don't know how Marla does this, because we went over and over each lap of the 113 riders in the field, and we're still not sure if we have it right.
You might have had the best race of your life, but unfortunately if the official can't score you properly, you might as well not have even started.
Here are a few tips for any racer who wants their results listed correctly:
1) Make sure your number is right-side-up and on the left side of your jersey. If we can't read your number as your ride by, you were not there.
2) Remember to sign-in on the start sheet of your category with your name and number. Turning in a release form does not mean you've signed in.
3) Please pick a number and stick with it. It makes it very difficult to score a race when racers use a different number each week.
4) Write your name and number legibly on the start sheet.
5) Let the official know if you pull out of the race. This doesn't really affect your result, but it makes our job easier.
Thanks for the help in making the races go well. See you next week!
Mike and Sarah.
