Well, another year of cyclocross has come and gone. Here's a final race report from the USGP in Portland. December 6 and 7th.
Last year I swore that I would never ride bikes in such a miserable place as Portland again. Cold, wind, rain, and mud. Why do they ride bikes here? After Saturday's race when I tore off my derailleur, I swore I would have a better time of it on Sunday's race. But as Tony Aleto thoughtfully paraphrased Einstein: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”. My hanger broke on Sunday. So be it. I had a horrible weekend race wise, but still had a good time.
There's only a few shots of SRV riders, mainly because I was the only SRV rider to go this year. You'll have to be satisfied with local riders from other teams......
Me, "testing" Kevin's glue job on his nice new wheels. Of course, actually I was just playing with them:
Local rider Jenni Geartner (Vertical Earth) in the women's elite race:
Kevin (Redline) making it look easy in the pro race:
Chris Holden (Vertical Earth) with a strong showing in the pro race:
Me, making it look, well, not so easy in the B-race:
Tony Aleto powered his way to top 10 finishes both days:
Tony, happy with his top 10 finish, me with a broken bike:
See if you can pick out the locals in the start of Master Mens 1-2 Race:
And again at the S-turn
Vids of the pro-race...yeah, this is pretty much how it's done:
These are some other videos that popped up from the weekend. (not my work).
A cool video of the womens B race on Saturday:
The Money Pit!
Nice!
