Rollers and trainers are for wimps!!! Join us for the real thing outdoors!
Meet at the West end of CDA Park in Brown's Addition at 10:00 am for a "Road Ride" of about 35 - 40 miles to Cheney and back. This is a BASE MILES / ZONE 2 ride. If you want to hammer, this is not the group you want to ride with. Those who would like more miles may team up and do so at their discretion.

I had a hunch you would bite at the carrot. Mike, we should plan a Lewiston trip as you had previously suggested. Be nice to hit Lewiston during a 50 degree bout of heat. Dale

I'll be there. And fittingly, at "Yehuda Moon & the Kickstand Cyclery" site today, there was this comic: It's like looking into a crystal ball...

I have received word that everyone has bailed on the Saturday ride tomorrow. I drove the route we usually take out of town to Cheney and given the forecasted temps, I believe it would be dangerously icy going that way.
Given the icy conditions and no one with a passion to freeze tomorrow, I am going to call this ride off.
I still plan on riding for a couple of hours tomorrow but will start at the Trading Post on 195 at 10am and head south, as the roads are in better shape (drier, no ice) for a road ride.
If you want to ride, keep an eye on this post for updates until 9:00am tomorrow.
As we continue to plan rides throughout the year, look to these post before you leave your house for last minute updates. We will always try to have last minute updates posted 1-2 hours or more prior to any ride. Generally, we do not find the need to update ride info but this time of year is sketchy at best and updates may be frequent depending on weather and participation.
If you need to get in touch with me, call my cell phone or reply to this post. I always check posts before I leave the house for any ride.

I have received word that everyone has bailed on the Saturday ride tomorrow. Dale ?? News to me. At least three of us will still be riding. If not road bikes, then mountain or cross. If no one is going to show up at Browns Ed, then I guess we might ride somewhere else.

Make that 4 riders, leaving from my place at 9 AM. People say they're bringing road bikes. Looking for 3-4 hours at Level 2, as Dale said.

9 am at your place. Should I bring mountain bike or road bike? Do not have cross bike.

Road bike would be advisable. IMHO studded cross tires would be way overkill.
Let's do the "Coursa Brutale". While riding I'd like to think about some recon/logistics for the State championship race that we'll probably do on that course.

Well, here's the NWS report that I'm looking at as of 4:00:
Saturday: A chance of freezing drizzle before 1pm. Patchy freezing fog. Cloudy, with a high near 29. Calm wind.
I guess I'll play it by ear, but if it's anything like predicted, I don't think I'll be heading out without studs, especially in outlying areas.

0800 Update: Temps will be around freezing. Icy patches are likely. No change in the ride plan.

Glad I did not miss this ride. Thanks all for the 45 miles or so. Great turnout!!! Pat, Monte, Mike, Kevin, Alan, Rob, and myself. Not a bad number for this time of year. I was suprised how good the roads were. Was not expecting that. Looks like we should be planning another real soon. ;D Dale
