We are watching the weather for this Saturday closely as to which of two rides we will do. Be sure to check back here for the final decision Friday evening. Option 1: Drive to Pullman, start the ride in Pullman, head to Lewiston and back. It is predicted to be 50 degrees in Lewiston Saturday . - Meet at Trading Post grocery store off Highway 195 at 7:45am to group/carpool and leave at 8:00am SHARP!
- Regroup at south end of Pullman shopping center (Ace Hardware, McDonalds) and start riding at 10:00am SHARP!
- Ride to Lewiston (Mike S. has a route in mind) and back, about 5 hours
- If this ride is chosen, details will follow on Friday.
Option 2: Start in Spokane, go to Cheney via Curtis Road, ride the Frozen Flatlands Race Course and back. Predicted to be about 42 degrees in Spokane . - Meet at Trading Post grocery store lot on Highway 195 at 9:45am and start riding at 10:00am sharp!
- Ride to Cheney via Curtis Road, follow the Frozen Flatlands Course, and back to Spokane.
- This ride would take about 5 hours also and 70 miles...details to follow later in week.
Provide us some input here. We want to know what you're thinking...in terms of rides.

Another ride option for those who want it. I'm leaving my house at noon on Saturday in the north valley. Will ride to Lib. lake, up a hill, out onto Saltese, over some rollers, up and down bella vista, up highway 27, onto Dishman Mica, up Sands/Madison and back down onto Dishman hills, up over Mohawk. Across valley on Evergreen, up winehill (fruithill road) and then if you still have the legs, up Lehman.
I use each hill as a steady state interval. Come and join for whatever amount you want. email me if you want directions to my house, scott_cooley@hotmail.com

Well I'm up for option #1 but only on SUNDAY if anyone else is interested? I will most likely do this ride, this sunday anyway.

Latest weather report is showing 54° in Lewiston on Sat vs 41° in Spo. I'm totally on board for Lewiston. If it doesn't happen, I'll do whatever local ride happens. I'm going to the Race Meeting/Ride on Sunday.

I'm going to the Race Meeting/Ride on Sunday. As much as I find driving long distances to a bike ride distasteful, and a waste of road time and energy, I am in agreement with you Pat. If the temps are looking that good for Lewiston it would change my whole attitude. ;D

I'll make it an army of 4 if I can convince my wife that it's a good idea for me to leave for another day after my most recent trip.

We are still lookng at about 9-10 degrees warmer in Lewiston. I am all for doing the Lewiston ride. What say the rest of the army? Need to make a decision today...Deal or No Deal? Door 1 or Door 2?

Looks like ideal conditions for a trip south and a great way to end February. My vote is Lewiston.

Door number 1 it is. We will LEAVE the parking lot at the Trading Post on Highway 195 at 8:00 am and drive to Pullman. Try to be there by 7:45 am so we can get rides put together. I have room for 3 other people and 3 additional bikes. We will meet at the South end of Pullman where the Ace Hardware, McDonalds, etc are at. If you miss us, you can call Pat, Mike or Dale on their cell phones to touch bases. MEET: Trading Post parking lot at 7:45 am & leave at 8:00 am WHEN: 7:45 am, Saturday, Feb. 28 DISTANCE: 79.7 miles TERRAIN: Rolling with the Lewiston Grade thrown in for FUN PACE: Let's figure a 16-17 mph average (considering the grade) DURATION: 5 hours riding time MAP: www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Pullman-SnakeRiver-Lewiston-Grade-RideWEATHER FORECAST: www.accuweather.com/us/id/lewiston/83501/forecast-hourly.asp?partner=accuweather&traveler=0&zipChg=1&metric=0&hbhday=2&hbhhour=7Call or post here with any questions. Should be a good ride. I'm supposed to pick up Janusz at 0730, so adjust your clocks to Janusz time. If we're not there at 0800, leave without us and we'll catch up.

Thanks for the pix Pat. I'm with you...so glad I did the ride but still exhausted this morning. Well, it did not kill me...hope it makes me stronger. Actually, with very little training or riding since last October, I felt pretty good that I could climb the Lewiston grade after bucking the wind all the way up the river. I think everyone was tired at the last bend in the road. A thought occurred to me this morning regarding the time trial bike. Would Patty accept a statement indicating that it was purchased with taxpayer bailout money? My Garmin Stats Lewiston Ride:- Total Distance: 79.28 miles
- Total Time: 5 hours 13 minutes
- Average Pace: 3:57 m / mile
- Average Speed: 15.2 mph
- Max Speed: 44 mph
- Total Ascent: 4,001 feet
- Total Calories: 3,238
