Jerry Pfeiffer will be leading this epic rural ride today out Rosalia, routing through Malden, Pine City, St. John, Steptoe, then on to Oaksdale and back to Rosalia. Oh...did I forget to mention that between Steptoe and Oaksdale is Steptoe Butte and this ride will not be complete without a ride to the top of the Butte!!! This is really a fairly moderate ride with just a few hills of any mention, Steptoe Butte being one of them. Jerry metioned having breakfast at The Chalet at 29th and Grand Blvd at 8:30am before heading to Rosalia. If you need a ride to Rosalia, be sure to post your request on this forum so we can get you taken care of. Map: www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Rosalia-St-John-Steptoe-OaksdaleRide Date: April 25, 2008 Distance: 59 miles w/o climbing Butte - about 65 with climbing Butte Terrain: mostly gently rolling Regroup: Frequent Start Time: 10:00am Start Location: Rosalia City Park (suggest car pooling) Rain Cancels: NO Ride Leader: Jerry Pfeiffer Recommendations: Take a camera for the Butte

Weather looks like we'll be dry on Saturday. Winds about 10mph out of SW. See you out there.

We had a great ride today despite the 15 mph winds with 25 mph gusts. Seven brave souls made the commitment and seven brave souls finished the ride. Thanks to Lisa and Mike for increasing our numbers and for being such good sports. Hope we see you again!!
I should have next month's rides posted by tommorrow sometime so keep an eye out on the ride calendar and the forum for future rides.
Don't forget that we have a Kit Design Contest running right now. Take a chance and help the club develop the new kit design. If your design is voted the winner by club members, you will be presented a Free New Kit, Jersey and Shorts. See SRV Forum for details.
I have not scheduled a ride for tommorrow (Sunday) due to the Lilac Century Ride and other commitments but if you would like to plan a ride for tommorrow or any time for that matter, post it on the forum. Members will be happy that you did!

That's awesome So you went to the top of the butte? I rode there once last year. It's an interesting experience circling the bluff: headwind, crosswind, tailwind, crosswind, headwind, crosswind, etc. I bet the view was epic, what with the partial cloud cover I had to settle for a first look at Corsa Brutale after work, but Mother Nature was merciful and I had mostly sunshine and light wind, no rain Seems like a pretty nice race course.
