Hoping to hop into a my first race soon (@ a twilight race), wondering about the USAC licensing:
- Can you buy the one-day license at the track the day of the race, or do I need to procure it ahead of time?
- Can you buy multiple one-day licenses? (i.e., one next week, one the week after that...)
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi Tim, Yes, you can buy the $10 one-day USAC competitive license on-the-spot. I guess you can buy as many one-day licenses as you'd like, but you get no discount. An annual USAC license is $60; if you're planning to do more than six races, it's the way to go. There are other advantages to buying an annual USAC license: you get tracked and ranked on the national webpage, you get to be associated with a team (SRV of course ) and you must have a USAC license to advance beyond Cat 5. Annual road licenses are good for cyclocross, but not mountain bike races. Mountain bike licenses are a $30 add on.

Thanks Mike, in that case I'll get the process started for the annual license. Plus that way it gives me an excuse to do at least 6 races to 'get my money's worth', and in this economy I need all the excuses I can get :-)
