So this is how it all goes down... It is very lucky that it is sunny and warm in Seattle and I had the chance to race at Ravensdale. The race course was snowed in back in march and so the race was pushed back to this Saturday morning. There is a surprising big turn out even though I have been told by a bike shop's people that lots of riders won't be able to race...the race was rescheduled a week and some ago. Cat 5 has a huge field of 50, and I suspect there might be more... The race was a 9 mile circuit X 4 times of rolling hills. It was uneventful in the first 2 laps except a crash that involved 4 riders, all hitting the tarmac. I tried to stay in the front after the first lap, and as an offender of "spending all the energy in the front to dig into other riders' suffering" pulling hard and fast, I was drained for the field sprint. Bigger teams set their guys up for the up hill sprint and I missed it. I finished several seconds back from the bunch sprint. Something to take away from this race: Race smart and save some juice in the legs the battle the big teams. ;D

That's awesome Tim, nice work and a lesson well learned. It sounds like you felt strong which is important. Just learn to keep your head out of the wind. Thanks for the race report. It's great to see blue skies and sun in Ravensdale! Next stop Wenatchee.
