The bad part about elevation/grade pictures is that they never do it justice. I can't even imagine a 32% grade. The steepest grades around here that I can think of are no more than 9%--Half Moon, Waikiki, and Midway. I'm not sure what Charles is but it's not too steep, just long.
Can anyone name any harder climbs in the area, not in length but in steepness?

Lehman road in the valley is 15% (connects upriver to bigelow) - the sign at the top says so at least . In Liberty Lake where mission ave ends and hits idaho road it goes 400ft up in what must be about a 1/4 mile or so; at the base of that climb is a wall that's maybe 25 yards or more, but must be approaching 20%. Unfortunately Mission ave on that part rarely get ridden though since once you go up and over the hill it turns to gravel. Edit: i'll say when I tried to ride that bit of mission, I found it literally impossible to ride up sitting down; i'd be unable to turn the pedals and just fall over.

White Road is another . . . only 1/2 a mile long, but it hits 15% in the middle.
Yeah, 32% is insane.

according to the Garmin, White tops out at 21%. I believe it. Charles is a constant 12%. Mt Spokane is 12% for miles.
