I'll try to record the stages from hear on out. The great thing about Versus is that they're rarely on schedule and you might end up getting some PBR on the recording. And I don't mean the beer, I mean Professional Bull Riding...PBR is pretty much the same as pro cycling anyway right??

So they mentioned today that the lead group of six riders had averaged over 60 kilometers per hour. Being an ignorant American, I didn't know what that meant in miles per hour without using Google. 60 kph is a mind-blowing 37 miles an hour...AVERAGE! HOLY COW! Maybe I heard wrong, maybe they mispoke, but that's amazing.

Alan, there is no possible way they were averaging 60 km/hr. If you look at their finish time, it took them 4.5 hrs to complete today's stage 5(196.5km). do the math, it yeilds 43 km/hr, 27mi/hr? but still, impressive.

So, yeah, I heard wrong. But it was a pretty great picture in my mind to imagine them pedaling at 37 miles an hour. Heck, since it's only 27mph, I might just start thinking about going pro myself!

Bummer: 2009 Tour de France Update, Friday: Leipheimer has been diagnosed with a broken wrist and is out of the Tour. Levi Leipheimer (Astana) crosses the finish line in Stage 12, appearing to nurse his left side after a crash. Michael Rogers (Team Columbia-HTC) also went down. Both riders reported via Twitter that they are "okay". Leipheimer: "I'm ok folks, wrist hurts but not broken, lost some skin"
