It has been forever since I've been able to be active with SRV due to kids' schedules, BUT that might change as my 11 year old son has been bitten with Tour Fever. Yeah for Versus and Phil Ligget for inspiring the next generation of riders!!!
We've got a road bike that fits him, but I'm lacking any Shimano SPD compatable shoes and padded bike shorts. He's growing like a weed and Tour Fever may not last forever, so I'm hoping to start out with used gear and see what happens.
Size 42/43 shoes and bike shorts that fit a 90-100 pounder are on my radar. If anyone's got used gear in those sizes I'd love to work something out with you.
Thanks, Colin

Thanks, Colin Hey Colin, if Shimano SPD-R road pedals would suit your needs any better, I have a set of Shimano PD-R540 pedals and cleats I've been trying to give away. They're these ones: www.shimano.com/publish/content/global_cycle/en/us/index/products/pedals/road/product.-code-PD-R540-L.-type-.htmlFor a starting rider, I can see the attraction to SPDs, however. Double-sided engagement is handy sometimes. But if you want the R540s, you're welcome to them

Hi Tom, That is very generous, thanks. The road bike he's riding has mtb pedals on it, the double-sided kind as you mentioned. I think I should stick with that so that when he's off the bike, he's able to walk more normally in the mtb shoes vs. having to do that "road-shoe shuffle."
