During the next few weeks we're going to work on the basic skills involved with cyclocross racing. Practicing the basics should help with the Wednesday night training series and of course the Inland Northwest 'Cross series to follow. Again, I'm no expert but should be able to pass along the basics to the newbies.
'Cross is pretty low key. Don't worry about what kind of bike you have, it's weight, color, or material. Ride what you got! The only type of bikes that might give you some problems are road race bikes with less than 25mm tires or bikes with road pedals.
So, the first step to 'cross racing: dismount, run with the bike, remount. We might throw in some barriers too.
Meet in front of the Downriver Grill at 5:50-6:00 PM on Monday night. We'll either go to Audubon park or the bluff.

Mike, Thanks for doing this. I will rest out 1 week.
I had a perfect storm. Sharp corner + Flat tire = Separated AC.
I will pick up the pedals sometime and plan on next Monday.

Thanks for coming out everyone. I'll make another post soon with details on next Monday's practice. Have fun at Vertical Earth, if you're going.

Yes, Mike, thank you for putting this on. My legs are sore (I'm a rider, not a runner) but I'll do it again next week!
Thanks,
Alan
