This first annual ride sponsored by the CDA Brewing Company and others is coming together and could prove to be another major USA ride (like STP) if supported by enough riders. I know, I know...to many rides and not enough time. We have two committed club members thus far...any more takers??? ;D Registration link below.
Tour of Pain Update
June 6, 2007
Finally, here is the registration brochure. It is attached to this e-mail and is going up on the website as I write, so if you need an additional source or want to encourage friends to sign up it is available at www.cdabrewing.com/tourofpain.html. Please print out the registration, fill it out and mail it or drop it off with payment to the Steam Plant Grill, 159 S. Lincoln St., Spokane, Washington 99201.
While it has been a bit slow to come together, everything is shaping up well for the inaugural Tour of Pain. T-shirts are underway and posters will be going out to bike shops tomorrow. A detailed route map is being prepared and will be included with the rider packets. In addition to Out There Monthly and Hammer Nutrition who are supporting this event, I am also pleased to report that Doma Coffee, a premier coffee roaster in Coeur d’Alene, will be providing a bag of coffee for each rider packet. A nice addition to the packets and much appreciated support for this event.
Finish Line Festival – Our brewers have made a special Imperial IPA in honor of the Tour of Pain. As an Imperial IPA should, it will be strongly hopped and 9-10% ABV. That means it may not be good post-ride rehydration refreshment, but it is something to look forward to for a limited time after the event. In addition to the 10 beers and food at the Finish Line Festival, we will have live music from 3 – 10 pm, so please encourage supporters to come down to welcome you home. The band schedule is coming together and will be in the next update, but will include bands from Coeur d’Alene, Spokane and Seattle. A word of thanks also to Mobius Kids, a children’s museum, who is working with us to make the beer garden portion of the Finish Line Festival work. Proceeds from the beer garden will go to them to support their great facility for our region’s kids.
Any questions, please let me know and thank you for your interest in the event. We are expecting about 50 hardy souls to make this journey. I hope you will be one of them.
