As a club, SRV needs to have a certified flagger available at any race we put on. The WA Sate DOT is offering courses for flagger certification. We don't need everyone to take this course, but it would be nice to have several members available with this certification.
The February course is filled up already, but it will be offered again on March 10th, Arpil 14th, and May 12th. If anyone from the club is interested in helping out by being a certified flagger, contact me or Julie Kelsey.
Course description:
Course is designed with lecture and hands-on training to meet required state certification. Certification card, issued upon completion of the course, must be renewed every three years. Lab/supply fee included in cost. For students 18 and older. Dress appropriately for weather conditions. Bring a brown-bag lunch, paper and pencil. Due to class certification requirements, students who arrive after 8 am, on the day of class, will not be admitted and will not receive a refund. For information, call 533-8010 between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm. Classes with low enrollments are subject to cancellation; fees will be refunded automatically if canceled. To register, call SCC 533-8010.
