Thats right ride one thousand miles in March. It's a pun on MLK's Million Man March. To my knowledge Bob Massie is the only one to do it. One century a week and one hundred miles during the week. So it is possible. My best a couple years ago, I went 670. Also Bob is retired.

So you guys don't know me yet (well, except for Willegalle, but he is having fun in warm weather so he doesn't count!), but maybe we will have a chance to ride together this spring. TMM is way out of my reach but you only go around once or twice or three times so I will give it a shot. Sign me up. If I make it I will buy myself an Orca and you guys can explain to my wife why I deserve it and explain to her that money isn't everything and her anger is only hurting herself.

Sounds Goode Pat, I'll do the explaining when the time comes for the Orca, but for now you'll have to explain to her why after only one week into the TMM that you can't walk!! 33.33 miles per day for 30 days...... who needs rest days???

I missed a couple days this past week (installing kitchen cabinets is WAY more labor-intensive than the internet would leave you to believe) but I'm hoping to make it up this weekend. The only thing that might save my TMM would be my commute to work each day, 9 miles round trip. That saves wear on the trainer and my wife's nerves.
What is it about cycling that makes our wives wish we were legless?...

I did my totals through Thurs. I need 177 miles per day to get mine in. ;D Have fun with that. Maybe you could just ride the Tour De France in July instead. I did my numbers last night and surprised myself. I have 760 miles for the month. That means I need 240 miles before Sunday...a lofty goal, but I'm closer than I thought.

372 on the clock so umm, . . . carry the one, two from ten, seven from nine, (need another drink of beer, math always makes me thirsty), three from nine . . . uhh, yeah, only 628 to go! That's even better than I thought. Luckily it's still a long ways to the end of the month so not a problem.
(Hmmm. Wonder when the '08 Orca catalogs come out.)

I'm getting real close: 102.5 left before the 1,000 mile mark. I just hope my back problems aren't the result of this ridiculous march...

750 after tomorrow. Great riding to anyone who makes it. Is there anyone who rides in the morning or early afternoon?

Made the march with a little wiggle room. Glad that month is over.

Good job, Alan. Impressive. I made 502. This means that if I try EXACTLY twice as hard next year, I'll make it with 4 to spare.

Don't feel too bad Mike. I managed a mere 285 mile March. Next year, I'm so going to make it 1,000 miles!!!
