What is he best way to turn off the thoughts of discomfort and pain going through my head. I not a fan of the climb. I climb all the hills with out any fun. I've tried alcohol, smiling, cheerleaders cheering, daydreaming.

Here's an article . . . A lot of real basic stuff, but maybe there's something in there somewhere that will help. Good luck. www.chainreaction.com/hills.htm

I rode up and down the hills from Bismark to Wellesley along Driscoll today for about 45 min. That may help.
