Mmmm, blueberry pancakes. Good job, Mountain Gear. Anybody else make it down for breakfast? I had to get in and out early so I could get to work, but I did see Michael and Eileen. People were pouring in when I left at about 7:10. Looked like the turnout was shaping up to be really good Thanks to all the organizers and sponsors for the great work on Bike to Work Spokane!

Yep, I made it down, set-up the bike corral, and watched the fun unfold. Oh yeah, I observed the whole range of old-but-cool to the newest whiz rockets.
It was very enjoyable.

I made it just as it was starting to sprinkle. But the pancakes and coffee were both hot so I really didn't care. I saw Graham there, too, and thanks, Eric, for racking my beast of a commuter bike. I laughed when issued a claim ticket to pick up my bike. As if anyone else in their right mind would steal a 42 pound lead-pipe framed commuter with an extra large milk crate straped to the back.

And this from Brenda at the shop: "Hello. I would like to invite everyone to the Bike to Work Week wrap up party at the Steamplant Grill downtown Spokane. Our own Richard Belson of North Division Bicycle will be there with Aaron Timmer, an iBike Powermeter representative. We’ll have a few bikes set up for trial rides. The wrap up party is Friday May 16th starting at 4:30 pm and going to 7 or 8 pm. If you’ve ever been interested in training with a powermeter this would make the perfect opportunity to try it out first hand. If you’re curious for more information their website is www.ibikesports.com. Hope to see you this Friday.
Thanks,
Brenda Mangine"

Thanks to all the SRV folks who attended the party! I believe it was an un-qualified success. All had a great time, my bike corral was packed and a bunch of cool stuff was given away. I understand the attendance was approximately 300+/-. I spoke with Aaron Timmer of Ibike concerning the new model power meter. Apparently they have largely revised the software, fixed the wind gust/sensor issue, and solved the vibration/signal drop-out problem. After observing the software run I think this is a nice piece of gear and would be a good training asset. If anyone is interested, I have an extra coupon for 15% off the purchase of an Ibike Pro or Ibike Aero (good 'till June 15). NDBS had a nice setup with a couple bikes on display and two bike setup on trainers for the power demo. Thanks to Mike, Eileen, and their Mechs for a good show!
