Please note changes to this Saturday's June 14th ride which will now start in Fairfield and the Town City Park right next to Highway 27 at 9:00. This will give us the opportunity to ride the newly paved road through the reservation, over the pass, and directly into Plummer which will certainly add to the beauty of this ride. Details are on the CALENDAR spokanrocktvelo.proboards55.com/index.cgi?action=calendarview&thread=236 .

This weekend looks to possibly bring us out of the ice age and provide ideal riding temps along with roads none of us have traveled on a bicycle before. Guaranteed to be scenic. Please note the new start time of 9:00am and the new start location at Fairfield. Updated Printable Map: www.spokanerocketvelo.com-a.googlepages.com/Fairfield_Plummer_StMaries_Benewah_L.pdfThis weekend, Fairfield will be celebrating Flag Day and this always brings large crowds to this small town. We plan to meet at the lower park on Highway 27 that runs through the town but if parking spots are full up, look for us parked across the street somewhere around the Case/IH Implement Dealer, St John Hardware. Due to the celebration and possible increased traffic between Idaho and Fairfield, please attach your red blinking lights to your bike. We have definitely noticed drivers giving us a wider berth when we use them. Additional note...the highway from Plummer to St Maries and north to Harrison does not provide wide shoulders. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, ride single file and give the four wheeled demons their space to get around us. Be an advocate of cycling. Sounds like a good number of riders doing this ride and should be one of the best rides of the year! See you out there.

This is becoming a terrible habit but Jerry and I will be having breakfast at 7:30 am at The Chalet on the South Hill on 29th and Grand Blvd. before heading down to Fairfield for the club ride. If you are so inclined, please join us. From there, we will head towards the Palouse Highway to Highway 27 then south to Fairfield. See you somewhere between and including Points A & B.
I'll have the van carpooling with Jerry. Royce will probably be in my rig and possibly Mike. If both do so, I will have room for one more. If you need a ride give me a call and we'll see what we can do.

Another good ride guys. The scenery was great all around. The traffic was surprisingly light. I'd like to try this one again and also try some other loops out that direction. Thanks for the good ride.
